A Map of Our South American Travels, Round 1

May 31, 2026

We have now completed the "Round One" of our overlanding travels in South America.

This is how our route looked between early January and late May (2026). We took this route because we especially wanted to visit the Brazilian Pantanal and see and photograph jaguars – and we succeeded!

Other highlights were all the wildlife we saw along this adventure and the fantastic Iguazu Falls.

If you'd like to take a closer look at our route, you can do so here.

Now, at the end of May, we are already on our annual break from our overlanding travels, and HB the Defender is in safe indoor storage while we are in Finland during the summertime to see our families and friends and to work as bear guides in northern Finland.

This has been our tradition since 2021, and it also gives us time to relax physically, mentally, and spiritually in our home country. Full-time traveling takes its toll, and it's important to recuperate once in a while.

In early October, we will resume our overlanding travels and head straight for Patagonia!

We can't wait for that, either!

Stay Wild,
