As I move on with my research, I have discovered an interesting thing. My blog started out as a guidebook. It then morphed into a genealogical support and suddenly it has turned into full on historical research.
It is a daunting challenge, seeing as I am neither a historian nor do I have access to all those scholarly resources that the learned have. And yet, I have set myself the goal to make it the best go to resource for the layman that is available.
You see, I believe history should not be limited to the select few. It should be a widely accessible subject in which active debate and discussion should be encouraged and not controlled by those who have the books or for that matter wrote them. We should not be afraid to talk about history. It is after all what makes our present and will mold our future.
So I will continue in my endeavors to present my readers lively, hopefully intelligent and intelligible posts, albeit on a topic only few are interested in, because even the obscures of histories should never die.
