In the captivating setting of Milan's Duomo, an extraordinary evening envelopes the audience in a embrace of magnificent notes, gifted by the virtuoso musicians of the Cameristi della Scala. The majestic atmosphere of the cathedral provids the perfect stage for an unforgettable performance dedicated to project "Scintille di Musica"
On December 18th, the "Scintille di Musica" series reaches its grand finale in a Christmas-themed concert directed by the talented Dionysis Grammenos. The program for this special event is dedicated to English Christmas music and promises a magical evening filled with festive spirit. The repertoire includes Handel's concerto for harp, featuring the expressive soloist Luisa Prandina, and choruses from his iconic work, Messiah. Additionally, Benjamin Britten's enchanting "Ceremony of Carols" will be performed, showcasing the ethereal combination of harp and choir. The compositions of John Rutter, paying homage to the great English choral tradition, will add a contemporary touch to the festive celebration.
Solisti Andrea Manco on flute and the Astra female choir, under the direction of Marco De Gasperi, will be joined by the male voices of the Teatro alla Scala Soloists, creating a harmonious blend of voices in the sacred ambiance of the venue. This December 18th concert promises to be a captivating and joyous culmination of the "Scintille di Musica" series, offering the audience a unique and memorable musical experience as they embark on a spiritual journey toward Christmas night.
The Sparks of Music series, made possible thanks to the generous contribution of Intesa Sanpaolo and the hospitality of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo, is an homage to the citizens of Milan.
