BTS: Soft Girl Mornings and Writing Rituals

Softness didn’t find me. I had to build it. One slow morning at a time.

Soft girl mornings did not come naturally to me. They were something I had to choose, something I had to grow into. I used to wake up already in a rush, already in my head, already trying to solve everything before my feet even touched the floor. But writing has a way of reshaping your life if you let it. Now my stories ask me to slow down before they’ll speak to me.

My mornings start quietly. Warm light. A soft playlist. A mug that stays warm long enough for me to actually taste what’s inside. I usually sit with my journal first. Nothing deep. Just a few thoughts. A reminder that my mind is still mine before the world starts needing everything from me.

Then I move into the work. Sometimes it flows. Sometimes it doesn’t. But the ritual matters. It prepares the room inside me where the writing can breathe. Paper Magnolias especially requires softness. It asks me to be honest. It asks me not to rush. It asks me to breathe before I create.

Some mornings I write only a paragraph. Other mornings I surprise myself. But every session feels like a conversation. A gentle one. A real one. A reminder that creativity grows best when the woman holding the pen is not drained or frantic, but rested, open, and willing to feel.

Soft girl mornings are not aesthetic for me. They are a survival choice. A grounding choice. And they are the reason the stories come out the way they do: warm, intentional, emotional, steady.

The ritual makes the writing possible.
The softness makes the stories true.

With all my love Sweethearts,
