My first post... I guess! ✨

Apr 24, 2022

Hey there peeps. So since this is the first post I'll provide with a simple introduction about myself!

I go by the name etcroot in the online world. I am 27 years old currently residing in Sweden! On my spare time I like to read, listen to audio books, nature, photography & tech things.

While writing this I am realizing how robotic and mundane I sound whilst writing this down, so I'd like to change things up a little bit.

I've been in the tech industry for approximately 7-9 years at this point where I started off when I was playing a game called Garry's Mod... This game is basically a sandbox game where you can rent servers and list them publically for other people to play on. In the beginning I just played as a normal user in other peoples communities. Until I started getting the idea of creating my own community for fun and to see where it leads. At this point I had ZERO knowledge on anything tech related, I didn't really have a computer whilst growing up and I was only ever able to get one after I had my first salary after turning 18. So... I spent hours, hours & more hours watching youtube videos on how to make a server, followed step by step, endured several hysterical youtube intros with almost ear shattering EDM music. But eventually I was able to create a fully functional basic server, but there was still things missing... Like the other servers had loading screens, custom content & more cool flashy things that made the server pop out a little bit more. So that's when I started learning HTML & CSS... I still vividly remember the first time I wrote <h1>Hello, World!</h1> onto the index.html document. It was the most mind blowing thing I had ever witnessed, the fact that I was able to put text into an editor and then have it display on a page with a certain format was so incredible. The server was relatively easy to setup and didn't really require any coding other than configuring .cfg files. So the web based things I did was a completely different experience.

I then started getting deeper & deeper into the rabbit hole of web design & developement. With an enthusiasm I hadn't seen in myself since childhood. That spark still sits with me to this day. Everything has ups and downs but that spark, that fire will never die as long as i breathe. This is my passion, this is my lifestyle, this is my career & this is why I made this page. To allow me to further develope my ability, knowledge & services as a developer in a highly competitive market.

That's all for this post, I'm glad you stopped by to read this!
Regards, etcroot.
