Dec 30, 2024

Qi Men Dun Jia is a very wide subject and it has been said that nobody can learn all there is to learn about Qi Men in one lifetime. That is because there are just so many new and wonderous ways with which we can navigate the world we live in using Qi Men.

The Qi Men Destiny Chart can be used as a way of getting to know more about ourselves, what motivates us, what drives us, and, in short what makes our lives meaningful or how to improve it.

For this exercise, we will be using the Qi Men Destiny Chart which is based on your hour, day, month and year of birth. The chart shows you the potentials of areas of your life and how and where you can improve.

Let's explore ...

The Qi Men Destiny Chart has 8 palaces. These are marked on the side of the chart in capitals. Inside the palaces you will see the different areas of your life that is governed by that particular palace.

The Eight Palaces are the Palaces of Survival, Desire, Power, Connection, Growth, Intuition, Soul and Dao Palaces.

Depending on which palaces they fall under, it can mean different things, particularly your outlook on that specific aspect or area of your life.  Using an example chart, let’s look into these Palaces [please refer to your own Destiny Chart for this exercise].

[no Stars] Dao: Go with the Flow

Dao is the aspect of your life where you tend to “go with the flow”.

In our example, the Property aspect of life is linked to the Dao, and you tend to go with the flow in terms of living arrangements or conditions and acquiring property or assets.

1 Star = Survival: Necessity

Survival is the palace of “necessity”.

You tend to do the bare minimum for matters relating to this Palace and the main motivation behind it would be necessity. If something is not necessary to be done, you may not place too much emphasis on that area of your life.

In the example chart, this is linked to the Destiny, Education, Reputation and Relationship aspects of life that form part of your survival.

2 Stars = Desire:  Wanting

The Palace of Desire is all about “wanting” something.

In our example, this links to Children and Risk, therefore children and risk would be one of the things you’d want most in life. Desiring something in life can also lead to expectations and disappointment.

3 Stars = Power: Control

The Power Palace is all about control.

This is the aspect of your life you wish to have more control in.

Our example chart links this to the Career Palace, and this may indicate that you would like to be the one to call the shots and have more control over aspects relating to your career.

4 Stars = Connection: People & Emotions

Connection Palace is all about people and your emotions relating to them. Here it becomes less about your needs and wants and more of what you can do for others. If it’s your Wealth Palace for example, your mental well-being heavily depends on your state of wealth.

5 Stars = Growth: Nurturing & Growth

This palace governs your ability to nurture and grow. Whatever palace it may be, you’re motivated and driven to make sure that it prosperous.

Here it links to the Parents, Soul & Family Palace; it could mean your mindset is one that is more attuned with nurturing and growth of your family matters.

6 Stars = Intuition: Creation and Giving Back

The Intuition Palace goes beyond growth and it’s all about creation and giving back to others. Whatever this palace falls under, it is the aspect of your life where you are most “selfless”.

In our example, this links to the Knowledge Palace and knowledge is used in service of others.

7 Stars = Soul: Powerful but Don’t Care

Finally, the Soul Palace is where you will see the Seven Stars. As it is the highest level, it is similar to the Dao Palace in a way.

You could say this is the most “powerful” aspect of your life, but at the same time most people don’t care too much about it.

For example, this links to the Health Palace - so this person may not care too much about their health matters.

As you learn more about your Qi Men Natal Chart, and the different Palaces of the chart, you get a clearer idea on what motivates you and what you need to do in order to go further.
