This is made with the future in mind especially when I become more consistent in putting out content such as youtube videos/arts/writings/podcasts/webtoons/future program codes/etc. This is made for the people who wants to get more content they are interested in while showing their support to me and them getting what they deem as worth for their hard earned money without them caring much about twitch.
Note: More benefits for the tiers will definitely be added in the future.
Why make tiers in buymeacoffee?
I've always been incredibly grateful to people who choose and want to support content creators. It really helps us a lot to earn while we are doing what we love doing and I've always wanted to be able to give back to the people who have been giving me support.
As you know, I mainly do twitch at the moment and I am heavily limited to what I can do with twitch as there is no community tab or area where I can post things. Another thing is that we, as content creators, only get 50% from the twitch subscription tiers while twitch gets the remaining 50% which is a lot and other supporters have expressed dismay to the fact that we do not get a lot more. Making this allows me to provide more content to people while being able to get more percentage from their support so I can continue to afford making videos/writing/or doing art without my time being heavily limited.
Why not just post in discord and allow certain twitch subs see it?
Discord is a great place to share things and interact with people. As of now, I can easily interact with people and I do q&a while streaming so I see no sense in offering it with the tiers due to the fact they can get it for free. I do consider the idea of making specific sub only channels where I can share some of the things I share here, although the tiers found here are mostly meant to be for people who are not interested/have no time watching a livestream and prefer shorter videos. I might also limit certain content to just here so there is still an incentive in prioritizing to show support here compared to twitch as I do get more percentage here than twitch.
Why choose this site and not Patreon or Youtube?
I have not been working much on posting Youtube videos and actual content I want to put out so monetization in Youtube is something we will get at some point in the future when I can actually focus on it. For channel memberships, it requires more subscribers to have things like this but it is also something I am considering if we ever get to a point we meet the criteria for it.
I have done my research and although Patreon is a very well known website for things like this, they do take more fees and require a higher membership for features I can get here for free. I can also add more extras like selling commission or arts or other things in the future here and Buy Me A Coffee has more flexibilities to offer people who want to support easier options.
