What is Pompoarism?

Feb 25, 2022

Pompoarism is an ancient oriental technique derived from Tantra which consists of the contraction and relaxation of the pubococcygeal muscle, seeking sexual pleasure as a result. For the mastery of the technique, it is performed with the aid of ben-wa, which consist of small balls connected by a cord of nylon or silicone, also known as Thai balls (in the case of women), and the contraction of the muscles of the sphincter and perineum (in the case of men). It is also claimed that pompoarism can be beneficial against urinary incontinence and in preparing the birth canal for easier deliveries.

History

It is an ancient technique from the East. It originated from the African Ubuntu tribe and was perfected in Thailand. In Thailand it is customary to pass the technique from mother to daughter, just as it is customary for the future husband to pay a dowry to his parents, and the amount depends on the education, musical skills and sexual abilities of the future wife.

Similar gymnastics were developed in the 1950s by gynaecologist Arnold Kegel. In 1952 Kegel "developed" some exercises for women who had a problem with urinary incontinence. Through research he discovered that the pubococcygeal muscle was out of shape and not working properly. By exercising these muscles, the medical problem was solved and the potential for genital sensations and orgasm was increased. In part because blood flow increases in exercised muscles, and increased blood flow is related to ease for arousal and orgasm. When you increase the strength of a muscle, you increase its blood supply, the side effect: increased blood flow to the pelvis implies higher levels of arousal and more intense orgasms.

Today it is indispensable among sex marketers, who use this capacity for their promotion and shows of "pompoaristic weightlifting", in which they show that they can smoke a cigarette placed between the lips of the genitalia; suck a banana with the vagina and crush it using only the contractions of the muscular rings from the bottom of the vagina forward; lift heavy objects; throw objects from a distance; open bottles; suck water, hold it in the vagina, dance and then release the water; suck three kinds of colored water, holding them with the three rings of the vagina and then release them without mixing them, among other demonstrations.

Basic movements

Many of the exercises proposed for pompoarism are part of the "Kegel Exercises", suggested by gynaecologists in order to prevent post-partum flaccidity and avoid urinary incontinence.

Sucking - "sucking" and "suckling" the penis with the vagina.

Strangling - squeezing the neck of the glans with one of the vaginal rings.

Expelling - forcing out the body of the penis, leaving only the glans inside the vagina.

Milking - massaging the penis in an orderly way, using the vaginal rings.

Sucking - Introducing only the glans penis into the woman, who will then try to suck out the body of the penis with her vagina.

Twist - squeezing and twisting the penis with the vaginal rings.

Latching - contracting the vagina in order to prevent the penis from coming out.

Advantages of Pompoarism

Gynecological physiotherapy has been contributing more and more to women's health, providing self-knowledge of the musculature of the pelvic floor and preventing dysfunctions that can occur in it. Considering such aspects, studies present the advantages of pompoarism as directly related to urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunctions. It can be highlighted that the pompoarism technique

Promotes the Treatment of Urinary Incontinence.

According to the article "Functional evaluation of the pelvic floor: a physiotherapeutic approach in the prevention of urinary incontinence", published in the magazine "Fisioterapia Brasil" (2012), healthy and voluminous muscles provide women with greater awareness about their own body. The strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles, resulting from pompoarism techniques, provides perineal self-awareness and is strictly related to female health, as it prevents pathologies resulting from muscle weakness. In this sense, it is also linked to a greater proprioceptive gain, improving self-esteem and self-confidence.

This happens because the female lower abdomen has a set of muscular structures known as the urethral sphincter, which acts with the function of urinary continence. It consists of two types of sphincters: the internal - which is involuntary - and the external - which is voluntary - and each one is responsible for acting in a different way in the woman's body. The voluntary muscles are responsible for initiating and interrupting urination, while the involuntary ones maintain a slight contraction preventing urine loss without conscious control.

Therefore, incontinence presents itself in women from the loss of the capacity of the voluntary sphincter, once the capacity to maintain the tonus obstructed or unobstructed is compromised when the muscle becomes flaccid.

Results of the study presented in the magazine article show that pompoarism has a great contribution to the health of women who face problems of urinary incontinence and dysfunctions related to the pelvic floor. Pompoarism presents itself as a solution to this problem, toning the muscles and restoring the capacity of voluntary sphincter.

Provides improvement in sexual dysfunctions

Sexual dysfunction is a frequent manifestation among women, and this generates consequences on female health and well-being. According to the article "Training of the pelvic floor muscles in female sexual dysfunctions", published in the Brazilian Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics (2010), the causes of female sexual dysfunction present several factors, which may be physical, psychological or social. Among the main ones, we highlight advanced age, menopause, vaginal surgeries, religious beliefs and even the disuse of perineal muscles. The disuse of the pelvic floor muscles is related to sexual dysfunction by contributing to orgasmic incapacity, since, with flaccid musculature, there is a proprioceptive loss.

Pompoarism, which consists in training the pelvic floor muscles, may promote improvement in relation to sexual dysfunction, because, according to the article, with the strengthening of the muscles that are inserted in the corpus cavernosum of the clitoris, there is a better response of the sensory-motor reflex (involuntary contraction during orgasm), and this contributes considerably to excitement and orgasm. Therefore, pompoarism is a technique which presents significant benefits for a woman's sexual life.

Natali Gutierrez, influencer and author of books and blogs on topics related to sexuality, clarifies in one of her articles on pompoarism some aspects in which the technique contributes positively to women:

Vaginal Flaccidity: as well as treated in the article published in the Brazilian Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the author presents vaginal flaccidity as one of the main causes of sexual dysfunction. According to her, when women do not exercise the perineum, especially by disuse, the region of the organ becomes flaccid.

Vaginismus: another aspect mentioned by the magazine article is the issue of psychological disorders as a cause of female sexual dysfunction. The author states that women who have suffered abuse or lost their virginity in a traumatic way, for example, may involuntarily contract the muscles of the vagina during sex.

Dyspareunia: this dysfunction is also related to pain during sexual intercourse. However, its causes can be diverse, such as: lack of lubrication, vaginal irritation, an obstetric trauma, among others.

Anorgasmia: this dysfunction is about the incapacity to reach climax, or orgasm. According to the author, it may appear since the woman's first relationship, and the cause of this disorder comes mainly from psychological disorders or ignorance of her own body.

For all these dysfunctions, specialists in the subject assure that pompoarism presents specific improvements that, together, contribute to a healthy sexual life for the woman.
