The Progress You Don’t Know How to Celebrate Yet

Mar 23, 2026

Oh how time passes… and how much can change.

And then there are the moments where you look at that same stretch of time and think…

“Damn. Nothing changed at all.”

That space right there?

That’s what I want to talk about.

Because that’s the space people don’t celebrate.

That’s the space people don’t post.

That’s the space where most people quietly decide they’re failing.

We’ve been conditioned to measure our lives—our success, even our failures—by standards that aren’t nuanced enough to hold real transformation. If it doesn’t look big, loud, glamorous, or instantly validating… we dismiss it.

We cheat ourselves out of our own celebration.

All because the progress didn’t look like a million-dollar shift.

All because it didn’t come with applause.

But here’s the reality:

Sometimes the very change that will propel your life forward…

looks like nothing changed at all.

Sometimes it looks like you’re still wearing the same outfit from five years ago.

But the difference?

You don’t play small anymore.

Not with your voice.

Not with your actions.

Not with how you choose yourself.

And that “small” difference?

That’s not small.

That’s everything.

When we live without questioning what we were taught, we stay inside limitations we didn’t even choose.

Abundance isn’t something you have to create.

It’s already here.

But accessing it requires something most people avoid—

the ability to zoom out and see your life objectively.

Without the emotional fog.

Without the attachment to what you thought it would feel like.

Without the timeline you swore it had to happen on.

The Example:

A few days ago, I reconnected with an old friend.

The first thing they said was, “OMG, I finally opened my gym!”

And I was genuinely so fucking happy for them.

Because I know what that meant.

I know the work behind it.

But if I’m being real?

There was a split second where I felt something else too.

My brain immediately tried to run the script—

“Look at what you haven’t done.”

“Look at where you’re behind.”

That spiral was ready.

But what stopped it…

was the internal system I’ve spent years building.

I paused.

I breathed.

And I reminded myself:

“Erica… this time last year, you were living a completely different reality.”

This time last year:

You didn’t have a fully self-composed, self-produced album.

You didn’t know if you’d even finish your first book.

You weren’t standing on the edge of sending it into copy editing.

That’s not “nothing.” That’s transformation.

If you read this and something in you got quiet instead of hyped…

this is probably for you.

This work isn’t glamorous.

It’s not aesthetic.

Some days it’s heavy, confronting, and uncomfortable as hell.

But this?

This is the work that actually changes your life.

Not the highlight reel.

Not the quick wins.

Not the surface-level shifts.

If you’re ready for that level of honesty with yourself…

you already know where to find me.
