ElektroSpank turns 5 years old.
ElektroSpank is growing. And it grows through the support of all those who love music. From everyone who supports the dark alternative side of music. From the bands, the artists, the labels and, above all, from all of you who give power and energy to its machine, to continue to exist and do all the things that bring us closer, through music.
The largest Greek electronic magazine for the dark alternative scene is celebrating its 5th anniversary with another huge event organized based on the success of the previous year. Having even more support, ElektroSpank In Concert 2023 is getting even bigger and is coming on December 9th, 2023, at the Arch Club Live Stage, with an event that will start with live shows from some of the best bands on the Greek scene as well as DJs sets by top DJs of the scene.
The purpose of the evening remains the same. To help people who are having a hard time, and specifically to show our love and support to children with cancer and their families. ElektroSpank celebrates, therefore, with another live/DJ event, the proceeds of which will be donated to AmKE Karkinaki, an organization that supports children with cancer and their families.
At this year's celebration, the atmosphere of our new host, Arch Club Live Stage, will be filled with romantic, dark sounds of sharp guitars, dreamy melodies, dark beats and unique voices. A musical blend that will bring strong gothic rhythms, shoegaze tracks, dark synths and dynamic post-punk, through the live shows of four of the leading Greek bands, Data Fragments, Kalte Nacht, Sugar For The Pill and Ghostland!
The night will continue with unique dj sets that will cover the entire spectrum of the dark alternative scene, with the one and only George Fakinos, the great Dr.D. and others to be announced soon.
This year's ElektroSpank In Concert 2023 takes place with the great support of Morphic Athens and TMR Entertainment Group.

Data Fragments was formed in 2017, since then faithful to the dark Post Punk sound, having gained the recognition of the domestic audience and with many important live performances along the way, they are just before the release of their second full length album by Geheimnis Records.
Dynamic rhythms, dark melodies and noise underpin a theme drawn from our deepest inner darkness and modern reality.

// Kalte Nacht //
Starting as a solo project back in 2017 from Nikos K. and very soon shaping into a duο with Myrto Stylou on vocals, Kalte Nacht is a project which combines dark wave urban aesthetics with atmospheric inner soundscapes, expressed through haunting vocals, analogue synthesizers with tripping sounds and drum machines.
Inspired by the Athenian underground, inner deep emotions, human relationships and everyday exchanges, our vision is to keep pushing the boundaries of the thin line between shadow and light, interacting with the listener, not only through our album but also with each unique live performance.
All of the above was reflected in our debut 8 track self-titled album, which came out in March 2020 by Geheimnis Records in digital and vinyl format and was sold out from the first months of its release.
It was presented through several live performances in some of the most prominent Greek music venues and European festivals, such as Wave Gottik Treffen and Sinner’s Day Summer Festival.
In March 2021, the digital single ‘Our Moments Are Answers’ along with an official videoclip was released. Kalte Nacht are now working on their sophomore album that will be released in 2023.

// Sugar For The Pill //
Sugar For The Pill is an Indie / Shoegaze - Dream Pop band from Athens.
Sugar For The Pill's music balances between the dynamic yet nostalgic sound of early 90s shoegaze bands such as My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive as well as soft dreamy female vocals reminiscent of dreamy/indie alternative bands such as Cocteau Twins and Lush but at the same time it has references to post punk revival bands like Interpol.
Their successful debut album is called Wanderlust and was released in March 2022 by Shelflife Records (USA) and Make Me Happy Records (GR). It received excellent reviews from the domestic and international press, airplay on Greek and international radio stations (KEXP, BBC, DKFM, Best FM, ERT, Nostos FM, etc.).
It has been voted as one of the best Albums of 2022 by many other media both in Greece and abroad (e.g. Entry in the best Shoegaze Albums Worldwide – DKFM USA). Additionally, the vinyl version sold out in Europe and the US within its first month of release.
The band has performed at the Release Athens Festival together with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Mogwai and Fontaines D.C, leaving the best impressions.
They also shared the stage with the legends of Shoegaze Ride as Special Guest of the band itself, in the framework of the "NOWHERE 30th TOUR" in Greece under the auspices of the Ejekt Festival.
They have performed several concerts in Greece and are currently in the studio recording their second album.

After 3 years, Ghostland are coming back to live performances!
The post-punk trio from Athens formed in 2014, consists of Makrina on vocals, Argyris on guitar, synths and programmed drums and Nikos on bass, synths and programmed drums. Their live presence began in the fall of 2015 and for the following years they participated in many concerts, mainly in underground and self-organized venues. From 2016 to 2018, their friend and sound engineer Stavros participated in the concerts on synths and with his valuable help they completed their debut LP "Dances on Walls". Ghostland's first album was released in December 2018 by the French independent label Manic Depression Records and received enthusiastic reviews in Greece and Europe. After the release of "Dances on Walls", more concerts followed and the composition of new material, which continued even during the lockdowns. Recently, Ghostland have started recording their second LP, parts of which they will present at their next shows!

George Fakinos is one of the most active djs and club promoters in the greek alternative clubbing scene.
Since the early 90s, he has djed in various clubs in Athens either for residencies (Next, Metalleio, Horostasio , Odd, Memphis, Underworld and of course he ran and djed at Second Skin for 11 years (2008-2019) .
Responsible for booking musicians like Brian Molko (Placebo), Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order, Monaco, Revenge), Kevin Matthews (Puressence), Mani (Primal Scream, Stone Roses), Neil Taylor (Mesh), Andy Rourke (Smiths), Barry 7 (Add N To X), Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets), Danny & Vincent Cavanagh (Anathema) and many others for djing.
He was also the first one to organise fetish events back in the early 00s with Spookshow and continued with Torture Garden , Fetish Ball and Venus In Furs .
Some of the bands that he has booked for gigs are The Mission, The Organ, Unter Null, Aesthetic Perfection, Calla, Xotox, Noisuf-X, Star Industry , X-RX, For Against, Expatriate, IAMX, FabrikC, Nachtmahr, Dirty Weather, Peter Hook & The Light, Suono, Incubite, Grendel, Soap&Skin, Philm, Faderhead, Combichrist , Freakangel , Diorama , Sheep on Drugs , Grausame Tochter , William Control, Priest, Wayne Hussey, Anna B Savage.
He used to do radio shows and write for various music magazines and fanzines in Greece, England and Germany.
George has also djed in England (London), Slovenia (Ljubljana) , Russia (Moscow), Spain (Barcelona), Austria (Vienna) , Romania (Bucharest), Bulgaria (Sofia) , USA (Los Angeles & Washington DC), Finland (Tampere) & Israel (Tel Aviv).
Adding to all this , George opened the Placebo outdoor show in Athens, Greece , in July 2022 in front of 7500 fans.
Since then , George djs regularly either as a guest or as a resident in various clubs , venues or promoting events.

Nikos Hanakoulas, better known as Dr.D., is a DJ who focuses mainly in the Metal and Gothic/Industrial area. Having collaborated with various venues (Death Disco, Skullbar, Texas, Bat City, Seven Sins), his long-term collaboration with Second Skin stands out. His various themed parties (such as BloodBath, S.U.A.), along with other groups, are an indication of his character and that he does not find musical boundaries. He writes articles in print and online magazines, while his show The Sulfur Inside, on Mercury Radio, over a period of three years, outlined in the best way the Greek, mainly, black metal, underground scene. With VoodooD Productions he is involved in organizing concerts, with bands such as Inkubus Sukkubus, Then Comes Silence, Garden Of Delight, Still Patient?, Parzival, Sydney Valette and [X]-Rx.
