EK Cafe: what you can expect of us

Jul 31, 2020

The online EK Cafe is not a place for everyday conversations, rather it holds space for you to have a conversation with yourself. So don't be surprised if it seems rather unique!

Emergent Knowledge (EK) involves 'processes' or sets of iterative questions. The facilitator will guide you through them, you'll soon get the hang of how it works.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • The facilitator asks questions and you respond by writing on the cards you should have downloaded beforehand (available from www.ekology.co.uk/files/ekcards.pdf).

  • All participants are on mute during the processes. Please use Private Chat to the facilitator if you have questions of clarification.

  • The facilitators move through processes at a steady pace. Please respond to each question as it comes even if you feel you haven't finished your answer to the previous question.

WHAT DOES NOT HAPPEN

  • There are no requests for you to share what you think about; your content is confidential, it's for you and not for us.

  • There is no therapeutic intention; the online EK Cafe is designed as a community space.

  • There is no constraint on what you think about (no-one will know anyway!). However, given the time constraints of the EK Cafe, we suggest that you focus on something quite definite and 'bite-sized', as this can help with getting more value from the processes.

You may be thinking it all sounds a little 'unusual'. But that's exactly how it has to be in order to provide experiences and transformations that are out of the usual!
