. We were the generation that was going to change things. The "Age of Aquarius" we were going to bring on a new enlightenment, a society of peace, understanding without prejudice. We had leaders that called on us to be better for our country. They had a world view and had visions of a society built on freedom and equality. For a brief moment it looked like momentum was in our favor , until if be the devil's own hand they were all gunned down and the last honest man was run out of Washington. Were we to nieeve with our flowers and peace signs? Did we become endoctornated or become complacent and disenchanted? Were we distracted by a " loaf of bread and a circus?
As we sit on the precipice of WW3 more divided than ever, I think back to the exuberance and dreams of youth while staring down the barrel of old age and reality and I wonder what happened to us?
