Understanding the Life Field

Understanding the Life Field

Feb 07, 2022

So here’s the thing.  You may already be cued into the intuition that there is more to life than the rational waking state.  You may already be in some kind of stage of realization regarding the relevance of energetic or non-physical reality and you may be eager to apply your curiosity in a way that feels safe, structured, and enriching.  You may already have woken up to the idea that there is more and if you are anything like me, you may be ready to really study the more so that it can become tangible, concrete, and not so abstract or theoretical.  You may be looking to ground the important and evolving idea of perceptual diversity - which is a term that honors multiple different ways of knowing, seeing, and generating perspectives of life, reality, and daily living (for example, learning things from lucid dreaming is an example of perceptual diversity).  Well, great.  You’ve come to the right place because with Intuitive Analysis, we are doing exactly these things (and more)!

The Life Field is a system of Intuitive Analysis that merges the twelve houses of astrology with the twelve layers of the aura.  It provides us with a set of additional perspectives for working with creative intelligent life energy.  Before we get into how this may work, let’s define our terms:

The houses of astrology: commonly understood as areas of life or domains of living, the houses of astrology can be understood as experiential spheres or stages of life where we act out, realize, or otherwise experience the themes of our existence.  The thing about the houses is that they are both well defined areas but also loose constructs that seem to float into different categories depending on interpretive need and the context in which they are being discussed, read, or lived out in real time.  It’s an art to work with them like it is to work with systems of consciousness mapping like astrology or tarot or iChing more generally.  The houses of astrology are like stages where things get played out — the stage of higher learning for example with house 9 may be where we play out our intellectual curiosity or the stage of creative self-expression with house 5 may be where we decide to take up painting yet again.  You can see how it would be hard to formally structure a specific area of life where we are in a mode of creative self-expression (this could be all the time or in very specific ways).  For this reason, I’d encourage you to read on because I’ll explain in a minute how I like to merge these houses with the layers of the aura and to think of them as fields of life.

The layers of the aura: I see as deeply interconnected with the houses of astrology.  I see the aura in 12 layers (like the houses of astrology) which again, are really fields of life and living.  The difference for me is that the aura is not separate from us in some “domain of life” out there, the aura is us expressed as our own unique emanation of energy and awareness.  The aura is our personal atmosphere and our energetic odor.  It’s the energy we give off naturally through emanation and just being ourselves.  It’s also what may be coming up for us or being worked out through us energetically.  It’s what’s in our field, so to speak.  Our aura is our personal field of life, our individual sphere of information and intelligence that is with us at all times.  When we read the aura, it can often start with sensing a color which can then be slowed down into a mental image picture (more on this in another post).  In meditation or through other means, we can read these pictures in all twelve layers (if we have the time) which can help us to ascertain matters of salience in our lives that we may not be actively thinking of but we could benefit from taking into consideration.  These additional spiritual perspectives may complement the work that we are already doing in other areas of life.

What happens when we merge the houses of astrology with the layers of the aura?

Suddenly, we are not separate from our external experience any longer.  By merging these systems, we get to think of our experience as an abstract out picturing of who and what we are on some level of consciousness.  The system we use for looking at real world scenarios and external outcomes becomes the same system we use to understand ourselves because we are those real world scenarios and external outcomes.  Put another way: we are not separate from the content and process of our direct experiencesFrom this angle, we actually are them, even if it doesn’t strictly seem that way.  This is exciting because it may give us the opportunity to consider world events in the context of the wisdom of our inner landscape.  This is not to say that everything out there is caused by everything in here.  I do not see it as a 1-1 causal relationship.  I see it more as a middle path, a creative dance, and a unique and ever-changing correspondence between internal feelings and external events.  At the end of the day, it’s really up to you to see how these unique puzzle pieces fit together and to seek specificity in the ways you will, but the general idea is that on some level, you are the things you perceive to be experiencing outside of yourself.  Said another way: there is nothing outside of yourself.  Said even another way: you personality = your personal reality.  In another post, I’ll take us through the way I map each field of life, from Life 1 up to Life 12.  This is all for now, though… stay tuned :)
