Many of us have been there before. You've sunk countless hours into your favorite game grinding through levels, defeating bosses, and building memorable teams and experiences. Then you go to play your game again and...whats this...where are my saves?... WHERE ARE MY SAVES???!!!
While modern systems have thankfully solved this problem with cloud game saves and backing up to hard drives, our favorite consoles of yesteryear often relied on the small but mighty CR2032 battery to keep your precious save files alive. While most of these batteries are rated for 4-5yrs, its not uncommon to see them last well over 20+yrs. That being said, most cartridge games with save batteries are way past their prime and if you haven't had yours replaced recently, you might consider doing it before your next major play-through.
We're happy to offer this replacement service for you on any of your cartridges with save batteries. But how do you know if your cartridge uses a save battery? We're putting together a series lists where you can see if your favorite game might need serviced. In this post, we'll be listing the Nintendo Entertainment System cartridges that are known to have save batteries. If yours is on the list, feel free to bring it in and we can replace your battery for just $8. Here's the list for the NES:
