Yesterday, while driving to a bushcraft show in Washington to meet up with some fellow survivalists, I got a message from a guy in Peru who’s going to help get me deep into the Amazon. The plan is to spend days in the jungle with a tribe, learning what I still need to survive solo out there and documenting what they allow me to share about their way of life.
This is officially happening and it’s turning into something even wilder than I originally imagined.
The tribe I’ll be spending time with has barely been filmed, and very little of their life in the jungle has been documented. I’m incredibly honored to have the opportunity to learn from them and experience this firsthand. I can’t share details yet, but I can say with certainty that I’ll be bringing back footage and experiences unlike anything I’ve ever captured before.
This has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. I always knew I’d end up in the Amazon someday, I just never knew how it would happen.
There’s still funding to figure out, but the pieces are finally falling into place. Now it’s time to finish learning Spanish, study everything I can about jungle survival, and stockpile GoPro batteries.
This is real. And it’s getting close.
