How Websites Get Paid On Ads

Jul 06, 2023

Basically, a website gets paid when a visitor clicks-through the ad and hangs out in that ad ... reading it, watching it, or listening to it for about 30 seconds. 10 seconds does not make a click-through. It's not enough that you clicked the ad, there is a time span involved that the visitor needs to be 'in the ad' for the advertiser to see that you took in the information of the ad. Then the website will get paid a few pennies (literally). Imagine how many click-throughs it takes to create a dollar. If it were 'really' any more than that, with my high-traffic volume, I'd be retired by now, but it is simply not the case that all high traffic websites are making a zillion dollars on advertising. I allow as few ads as possible so you can read the 'original content' that I write.

I'm grateful for 'Buy Me A Coffee'. It is motivating for me to see my 'original content' appreciated, respected and wanted.

Thank you so much!
