Phinney Family Update: April 2024

Mar 29, 2024

A FAMILY & MINISTRY UPDATE:

It’s that time again—the moment we gather around the digital hearth to share tales of our adventures in Christ, triumphs, and everyday escapades. Whether you’re a Spiritually adopted Phinney, a faithful "follower," or a sprout on the family tree, this update is for you.

Family Milestones:

Baby Steps: Our littlest Phinney, Clarie (Eason), number eleven grandchild, will soon take her first wobbly steps! She’s like a tiny explorer discovering uncharted lands (or at least the living room rug).

We are also expecting our first great-grandchild in July. Phoebe, our eldest grandchild, who married Alex, is ready to bless us with another bundle of joy. While we love the idea of holding our first great-grandchild, it makes us rejoice in the heritage promised to us in our elder years.

Our youngest daughter, Jess, continues to live with us. What a joy! Abby, our eldest, lives with her family in Pennsylvania. She and Quintin have nine children. Our middle daughter, Elizabeth, lives with her family in Colorado. She and Nathan have two children.

Forty-seventh Anniversary: Can you believe it? Jane and I celebrate forty-seven years of wedded bliss in June. Our secret? Endless cups of tea, coffee, laughter, and commitment to our Lord's principles of Covenant Marriage - OK, maybe a dash of mischief. You can view a special video and essay, "The Love of My Life," HERE.

Jane continues to be challenged by her "drop-foot." After an injury years ago, many symptoms have developed, causing walking difficulties and other related issues. She maintains an active role in ministry - including a weekly community Bible study with women, her role as my assistant, and her commitment to caring for her grandchildren. This month, she will begin releasing articles on our Substack channel under the banner of "My Heart Undressed." (Released date: April 23, 2024)

As for myself, I maintain fairly good health. My heart failure condition is managed by a medication change made in early 2024. My degenerative nerve disease is, well, more degenerative. I continue my IVG infusions monthly - to the tune of $25,000 an infusion. Thank God for insurance. LOL. However, my balance, numbness, walking, and other related symptoms worsen slightly as time passes. We look forward to my visit in July with the neurologist for his analysis and review.

Emotionally, both Jane and I have our challenges. We miss our children & grandchildren daily. Since they live in other states, digital communication is our primary way of staying connected, which can be daunting and lonely at times. We take the burdens of our family and the Body of Christ seriously. The ideology of resistive silence (no replies) weighs heavily on us. I guess we are a bit old-school in the way we think.

Furry Family Friends: The Phinney household has been reduced to one furry family member—Packer. The past month, we were obligated to put "Tulip" down because she became too aggressive with strangers. This was one of the toughest decisions we have had to make. Packer, our Golden Retriever, is lapping up all the additional attention. He has already outlived his projected lifespan. We are grateful because he is a welcoming delight to our home.

Ministry Corner:

Our ministry has experienced an extraordinary surge in growth, akin to the pace of cultural implosion upon the minds of today's Christians and generalized masses. Although our readership & viewers have multiplied, hearts have ignited, and our impact has rippled far beyond our initial goals for 2024. As we navigate this exponential journey, we are determined to remain steadfast, nurturing the flames of faith, compassion, and God's Holy purpose of IOM America. May this momentum continue to illuminate lives and bring the Love, Grace, and Hope of Jesus Christ to those who seek it.

We have many publications and multimedia productions planned for the remainder of 2024. One significant venue is the Identity Politics series Judge Mark Boonstra, and I are posting through our IM Christian Writers Forum. A sample is HERE. Our objective is to bring the American citizens back to America's roots.

That’s the scoop, dear family, friends, and supporters! Keep those stories and comments flowing, and remember: We’re dependent on Jesus within you to continue to keep us doing what He does through us. Your notes, letters, online comments, and financial support are valued eternally!

In His Dependence,

Stephen & Jane Phinney
