Thank you for visiting! You can get a copy of my AP Spanish Lit Magnetic Poetry Lesson here. Check out my TPT store and follow me here. I created this lesson to coordinate AP Spanish lit texts with Valentines day!! This is a set of 5 magnetic poetry templates from a mash-up of 3 "anti-love" poems on the AP Spanish Literature reading list including Sor Juana's Hombres necios, Góngora's CLXVI "Mientras por competir con tu cabello...." and Becquer's Rima LIII "Volverán las oscuras golondrinas." Here is a screencast tutorial to see how to move the words over the templates.
I have links to audiovisual versions of the 3 poems, questions to guide students to think about the darker side of love like rejection, hypocrisy, guilt, accusation, disenchantment, undervaluing someone and breakups. Then, I created a template for students to pick out 12 words that stand out to them about how romantic relationships can go wrong. Finally, students have a choice of 5 templates of magnetic poetry to create their own poem from fragments of these 3 masterpiece texts.
I plan to have small groups work collaboratively on these anti-love poems, but it can be used a ton of different ways for creative writing and to begin putting these poems, the themes and vocabulary together.
