Just a shout out to the upcoming festival in my very own Stocksbridge community, HOMEGROWN – A Festival For The Arts.
Taking Place between September 28th and October 12, this years festival is going to be bigger and better than before, and I recommend anyone in the area during this time check out the calender of events for something that may be a new pastime just waiting to be discovered.
Just some of the highlights include:
The Arts and Crafts Exhibition at the Voayager Art Space on Manachester Road, which will showcase some tof the local talent that doesnt normally get seen, with the chance to look around and even buy the ones that catch you eye. Takes place throughout the festival, so take your time and come back tomorrow to see what you miss the first day
Artist and Authors at Samuals Kitchen on Hunshelf Road, Enjoy breakfast or lunch surrounded by local artists and books
Corn Dollies Demonstrations, a demonstration of making these fascinating craft items, as well as the history of making. And later the same day, a workshop on wet felting, both at the Voyager AArt Space
The Famous Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir areopening the doors to a resherdal session at the Bolsterstone Village Hall, and at the Venue there will even be a rehersal session of the Waldershelf Singers as they get ready to perform…..Christmas Carols!!!
