Once thing content creators need to ponder - who is my audience? Have you ever thought or pondered that very thing?
When you hear educators use the term "target audience", does your mind get led to your analytics? Do you think demographics? In reality, your target audience is NOT your current viewers.
Think about this: who is the ideal person or people that I make content for?
These thoughts have been with me for a while now in 2021. I find myself thinking about who my audience really is - who should they be? I still find myself narrowing that down. I know that they are creators - content creators for sure, but I need to narrow that down and be more intentional, more focussed.
Certainly, the bulk of my audience are YouTube creators. I think about the pillars of content that have performed for me so far - Streamlabs/Mobile Streaming Content, General Streaming Content, YouTube Live Streaming Moderation, and YouTube News/Tutorials. To me, there is some disparity between the different audiences at play in and around these pillars. Do I pick one or two and "lean in"?
These are the sorts of things I have pondered, and as I work through these thoughts I know the right decisions will be made when I come out the other side. One thing I do realize is that this is a journey - a journey of discovery, learning, and decision-making. Who are my peeps? Those that take the journey with me!
