Good morning! It's freezing out in NJ, im sure it's even worse where you're at. I recently got my group of friends to all commit and purchase Starlink Minis for the $5 a month plan. And of course as soon as everyone purchased one, it goes on sale again!
So little context:
starlink created the standby mode last year which is 500kbps (slow) internet that's unlimited.
the plan cost $5 a month.
This is enough for you to:
text on your phone
Facetime
voice calls over wifi
browse webpages (some may be slow if there's a lot going on life facebook or instagram)
Use apps like signal, telegram etc.
I know that there isn't a need for Starlink for everyone, especially for those who have a robust comms plan or have loved ones who are also licensed, or understand how to use a radio.
My friend group has ZERO interest in getting licensed, so this is the next best thing for us.
