Nothing at all is worst than a cockroach?Nope!!!!Let me introduce you to the flying cockroach! The worst of the worst kind of cockroach you could ever encounter!Run if the cockroach start to fly!!!
Living near the equator and a mostly humid weather 90% of time, you are bound to encounter the flying type at least once in your lifetime.This is the time when you put those laughing at your cockroach phobia friends or family to the test and kindly ask them to get rid of it.See if anyone of them would do it for you.
Lets discuss how to identify the flyer.Normally flyer tend to be bigger in size, How big?Take out your thumb and look at it and estimate it sightly longer than your thumb and you get the idea how big flyer are.They are mostly on the high ground like kenobi, example like on the higher wall or maybe resting on your light switch and on top of your tallest furnitures.They are also more aggressive and would charge at you.These are some of the traits of a flyer but be caution no matter if is a flyer or not.Some can fly even when they decide to crawl.
There are really no easy way to deal with the flyer, your best defence is always your best offence.If you are unlucky enough to encounter one, you need to stay really quiet and calm then slowly back away.Everything you do from opening or closing doors to walking have to be really quiet and slow.Use the best pesticide spray you have, for me it was the Baygon cockroach killer with a nozzle tube, it sprays a stream instead of the usual misty type.
At this moment if you have a clear shot you take it, it will flap around in struggle but in the end if you can get more shot of it you take it.If you freeze out of fear then observe it for while, if the flyer drop to the ground take more shot with your pesticide until it stop moving.Do a through spray even if it flip to kill the eggs it is holding in it.
If you have somebody brave to dispose it later then no problem, if not use a long broom and sweep it onto the long dustpan, cover it with paper if you hate looking at it and dispose it outside or into the rubbish chute.
If you are dealing with sneaky flyer which is the most difficult one, pray that it hasn't adapt to your pesticide spray and start spraying your floor with pesticide and close the door shut and wait it out.There are no guarantee if the flyer would die as I seem cockroach trying to hide or climb up higher to avoid the smell and is pretty up to you if you want to mist up with pesticide spray in your house to kill it.
Is a really desperate time, even for me I used half a can on my floor and waited 30 min or longer during the day.My room smelled of pesticide for more than a week and I need to open my door at all time because thats how strong the smell of Baygon are.I actually ran out of my house and waited out in Mcdonald for the supermarket to open and buy pesticide after seeing a flying one.
One warning I want to give dealing a flyer is that never ever crowd around, I kept seeing people filming and crowding around it which accidents could happen at that time.The best friends or family does not matter once that thing fly and you would push and drag anyone to escape from it.Escape quietly one by one without panicking so as not to alarm the flyer in resting position.
Once the ordeal ends with the flyer dead and dispose of, you should always get some strong cleaning agents to mop and wipe your house and furnitures clean.Also I want to suggest you can wear shoes just in case you need to run out of house or steps on puddle of pesticide.
