Have you ever watched a movie and thought, "I want to experience something like this some day?"
I think most of us have. I know I've also experienced this when reading The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho.
About a year ago, I watched this film titled Hands Of Stone starring Robert Deniro. It's a biopic on the life and career of Roberto Duran, considered by many to be one of the greatest boxers of all time.
It's a riveting film and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys stories of redemption.
I watched it again last night for some inspiration for this story I'm writing that's essentially going to be a novel. It's called The Tune Up and it centers around the lives of three individuals in the professional boxing world, whose stories come together in a powerful way that involves redemption, healing, and forgiveness.
As I was watching Hands Of Stone last night, I remembered having a thought the first time I watched it that I wanted to write a story that was similar in dynamic as the movie. But I didn't know where I would begin or what it would be about.
Fast-forward in time a year later, and I have nearly 80 pages and 37,000 words written. There's about six sections that I have outlined that I'm writing in as story every day. And as I watched the movie last night, I see how that thought of wanting to write something similar to it a year ago is coming true in the present.
I saw all of this as an encouragement to you. Maybe there's a dream or desire you've had that came in a moment. But you didn't know where to start or what to do to make it happen.
Sometimes just allowing ourselves to have a wish and releasing it to the universe is all we have to do.
The full fulfillment of my desire hasn't been realized yet, but I'm so excited about writing this story.
