Everyone says screensavers are dead.
Honestly... they're not wrong.
But somewhere along the way, I realized screensavers stopped being about saving screens and started becoming about making your space feel alive.
A few months ago I had an old touchscreen laptop just sitting around collecting dust. The only thing I ever used it for was testing random Linux distributions. It deserved better.
My first thought was,
"Maybe I'll turn it into a smart clock."
Then,
"Maybe a dashboard."
Then,
"Maybe just a slideshow with a clock..."
But Windows already does that.
So I asked myself a different question:
What would make me actually want to leave this display on 24/7?
That's how AuraBoard was born.
Instead of building another boring screensaver, I built something that feels more like a fully customizable ambient dashboard.
Every widget is draggable.
Every layout is yours.
Resize everything.
Arrange everything.
Build a setup that actually matches your desk instead of using the same layout as everyone else.
Right now AuraBoard already includes widgets like:
Clock
Weather
Moon Phases
Sunrise & Sunset
Sports Fixtures
Stocks
Crypto Prices
News
Calendar & Date
Countdown Timers
Spotify
…and we're just getting started.
The part I enjoyed building the most wasn't even the widgets.
It was the wallpapers.
Sure, you can use your own photos as a slideshow.
But I also wanted AuraBoard to feel amazing the moment you launch it, so it comes with built-in wallpaper collections like:
Cinematic
Anime
Superheroes
Live Wallpapers
And because everyone has a different vibe, you can render every slideshow in:
Full Color
Monochrome
Duotone that automatically matches your accent color
It's a tiny detail, but it completely changes the mood of your setup.
Fast forward to today...
That forgotten laptop now sits beside my monitor running AuraBoard all day.
Sometimes it's a productivity dashboard.
Sometimes it's just an aesthetic photo frame.
Sometimes it's showing the weather, my Spotify, tomorrow's fixtures, and a countdown to something I'm excited about.
And honestly?
It makes my workspace feel... complete.
This is only the beginning.
I've got a long roadmap ahead with more widgets, deeper customization, smarter integrations, and a bunch of ideas I can't wait to build.
If you've got an old tablet, touchscreen laptop, second monitor, or even a spare display lying around...
Give it a second life.
Get AuraBoard and turn any screen into something worth looking at.
