I know. I'm late getting the newsletter out again. On my defense, there isn't much going on right now. My writing seems to have slowed to a snail's pace, so there isn't much to talk about.
On the bright side, I'm finally finishing up the last few chapters of "The Fake Alpha". Sadly, I've deemed it kind of a flop. I was so excited about it when I started, but as the steam fizzled so did my desire and ambition to finish it. I struggled through my writer's block and have finally come to the end. It isn't quite the end I was thinking of initially but at this point, I just want the book to be done and over. I hate feeling like this, but sadly, I do.
I plan on going back and editing it later before I publish the paperback. At this point, I'm not planning on editing it for Kindle Vella though. The story needs a more in-depth edit and possible re-writes, which I can't bring myself to do right now. I need to walk away from it for a bit and then come back to it with fresh eyes and a clear conscious. Then I'll be able to tackle it better.
With that in mind, I've also decided I'm going to start to having beta readers look through at least my initial chapters, if not the whole book, before I publish them. If you are interested in being one, please let me know. I've been asking other authors exactly how they handle beta readers and I've gotten so many different answers. The underlying theme though is I'll need to have an email address, so I can either send the chapters or add people to a shared google doc. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how I want to do it, but I'll get things in order soon.
With "The Fake Alpha" coming to an end, I will step up and begin editing/converting book 3 of the Sun Moon series book into a hetro story. I've gotten some feedback that the BL story was too fast and bounced all over the place, but I'm assuming the person didn't read the first book in the series. With that in mind, I'm going to make some adjustments while editing/converting it into a hetro story. Hopefully, it doesn't alter it too much or make it drag. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
If you are following me on Wattpad, you know I've got the first part of book 4 of the Sun Moon series (New Life series on Wattpad) done. I've already decided who book 5 will focus on, and while writing book 4, I'm laying the framework for the next book which will also take place during the same time period as book 4. At this point, I don't know if I'll do another book before shifting and jumping into the future and working on the kids' books or not. I'm looking forward to writing the next generation's books.
A little hint/spoiler.... I've devised characters for the kids' book already or at least the villain. The kids will actually meet him in book 4. That one interaction will change everyone's future.
