I'm the developer of ddcutil, the Linux utility for controlling monitor settings. The project began over a decade ago with a personal itch to scratch related to monitor calibration. In addition to the applications I provide for controlling monitor settings, command line ddcutil and the graphical user interface ddcui, ddcutil is the backend used by monitor control utilities including KDE PowerDevil, vdu_controls, and numerous GNOME shell extensions.
