This post I am going to share my process of drawing "The Bedroom"
Took me three times to get satisfied!
Me always get stressed when I was commissioned. Because I must reach my client's request/or my specific target no matter I am happy or not. For my personal works, if I don't want to continue with my painting, I could just give up anytime or re-draw again...maybe after few months, a year.
So this pieces is for an event in Japan which about making crossover with one of my favourite artist Van Gogh. I was really happy with my final work but the process really frustrated. The above one is my first little draft, I quite love this but it was too small which is not suitable for making product.
Though Van Gogh's works are in a rough style and I was thinking too simple...to work on it. Of course I was failed at my first drawing...not happy with the line and not wild enough.
Also failed and lost in the second one too.
As I am not a patient person, I was already tired of making the same painting. It is necessary to do something made me feel happy. Let's draw something fun and also do color testing at the same time! I found out that making a pale layer before colouring and trace with watercolour/gouache works well with me. It was lucky my happiness came back after these cats doodles and testing. Finally I used the same way to paint" The Bedroom". This time the result was acceptable and done.
Make a pale brown layer could create more texture of your works, I love it.
近來發帖都越來越少寫字，快喪失語言能力，有時因為懶，或是不知道想寫什麼啊。最近和一位學生聊天提到作畫過程，對哇，可以寫寫這個。
因為我的畫都是粗獷風，好像是隨意地畫出來，其實並不是。通常被指定目標或工作，我反而是心情會繃緊，就會畫上好幾次！
如果是畫給自己的，那麼有的真的很輕鬆畫，一次就OK
因為失敗隨時可以放棄，所以我畫簿裡有很多半途而廢的圖
不想畫了馬上又畫新一張，但舊的不要丟，說不定以後可以改，或有新發現。
拿THE BEDROOM來看，這張我畫了3次呢！！！
第一張是草稿，只有8x6 cm，很輕鬆。我也頗喜歡這頹廢的一小格，但是要拿去做活動商品不適合。
於是我就放大畫完整版的，梵高的作品並沒有太大改動
直接畫＋自己畫風，然後再塞隻貓進去就行啦！當時實在是太天真，以為這張不用找太多資料，只要像平時自己畫圖，1次就能通關。結果是失敗的（參考第2張圖）整張的線是死的。
我有點挫折，一來畫不出，二來「工作」的時間成本增加了
或許是紙太大張，我不擅長畫大張的圖（到底是什麼原因我想又可以MURMUR一篇）
只好再畫，這次畫小張一點，掃描進電腦時用高DPI，可惜TAKE 2畫到一半（參考帖第3張圖）我已感到十分無力，感覺不對！個人耐性不強，此時我已經厭倦THE BEDROOM了，也不知道怎樣畫，馬上又再畫只是徒勞無功。
我需要感受一下畫畫的快樂，於是不如先去畫自己開心的畫，同時也做顏料測試！平常是鉛筆描線，這次試水彩描線，然後才用GOUACHE蓋上去。於是中途產出了無相關的貓咪圖2張（參考帖第4張圖）其實我都忘了是這原因才畫出這些貓，打文章時才回溯起。
慶幸地又恢復開心的畫畫狀況啦，TAKE 3終於過得了關⋯！我想最大的差別是，這次有先上一大片咖啡底色，用水彩描線，上GOUACHE，才選擇性地用鉛筆描線。上底色真是好東西，我之前很多時畫畫沒先上底色的習慣。
