Since this lockdown thing started, I have gotten involved with this community doing online performances and workshops with people all over the world. This Soulstice event has a real festival feel almost like a festival with different tents and activities which you can wonder into. The format is breakout rooms and if you sign up here there is one link for the weekend ( but you can donate to individual artists via links to show support of their work) In each of the breakout rooms there is everything from performance, to live music, to improvisation collaborative rooms with audience, to butoh workshops, breath-work workshops, painting There are also rooms and space for jamming if you feel so inspired. The event is free to join with the option to support artists. I am doing a living installation with a musician in Argentina and workshopping a collaborative piece with movement and text and audience and a healer in LA. This is all in Region A, the America's.. In region C, I am doing vocal improvisations with a Ugandan actor, poet and percussionist.
The last few events I have had some really fun times and real performative experiences connecting and experimenting through zoom as a medium with Mr Frustrasi, a half masked character, who is a total dinosaur when it comes to his attitudes to women.
So pop in, see if it is your kind of thing whether that be as an audience or as a future performer/collaborator. For me, it has been quite a freeing space where new ideas, new approaches to working have come about for me.
