Hi, I’m Danny. Computer Science | Sociology | Advocacy I build websites for a living at Danny’s Digital Designs, and I write about society, faith, and politics at The Tattered Rose. But for my passion, I build free, open-source tools that put expensive, gatekept knowledge within reach of poor and working class people. The first of these tools is Bad Faith Prosecution - wiki (https://badfaithprosecution.wiki), a citizen journalism and legal research v1.0 platform for collaboration and documentation on how to fight back if the Federal Government brings a bad faith prosecution against you (or someone you know) for protesting. Having a system and collaboration with agentic a.i. is how one person (me) can do the type of legal research that normally costs a retainer that poor and working class people can’t afford. As a second generation formerly-incarcerated person in recovery from addiction, homelessness, and American Evangelicalism, this mission is personal for me. But to be plain about where I stand, I’m doing this work “in between jobs.” That’s not a pitch for sympathy. It’s just the reason that I can’t not do this work. Because I’m not building these tools for poor and working class people from the outside. I’m building the tools I wish my own family had had. Free tools for poor and working class people to utilize are not free, though. Servers, AI tools, court-record databases, and internet domains all cost money. A few dollars keeps the work free, independent, and unpaywalled: no ads, no selling anyone’s data, no turning other people’s hardships into a product. As a Democratic Socialist through and through, I believe that the people who can afford to spare, help cover the people who can’t. Thanks for being a part of it. Peace.
