Hello I am Kavisha . I am an Australian singer songwriter with strong leanings to social justice , community music as well as folk music and kirtan chanting .I have a rich heritage - a big musical family that ran a family restaurant in Perth WA- an Italian Father from Ischia and my Anglo-Burmese Mother is from Shwebo Myanmar . As a child of migrants, born in UK now living in Australia ,like the members of my family ,I am passionate about contributing to a harmonious Multicultural Australia .
i love to do that through my performances and paintings promoting multicultural harmony and understanding. I do this through learning the old songs and connecting with elders in our community and singing together with them and also bringing them out of their social ghettos to perform to the wider Australian audiences .
I also paint people's stories .This breaks down the isolation the immigrants feel and through performing for the australian english speaking community we breakdown stereotypes and create joy ,peace and empathy .
