Well... it is probably about time I make a post on here, though it could be my last. Over the past few years I have made a lot of ambitious goals & declarations of where I wanted things to go with my guides & potentially trying to make a career out of it. But that just isn't a reality, or at least not for a very long time. But I am okay with that, & I am okay just staying the course.
After writing Achievement Guides for 5 years now, I still enjoy doing it & am still very passionate about it (barring the occasional bouts of burn out, but that is almost always my own fault). The hardest part for me is just being so slow & watching my list of future guides/games only getting larger. I get so many requests to do guides for games... & I just can't get to them, or at least I can't without sacrificing doing the games I personally want to do. I am trying to get better at that though, & not try to take on too many 100 hour plus games back to back... which also is a big contributor to burning out.
Where I am actually going with this post though, is instead of growing my community on this site or any other site, I am just going to lock in to Steam & use my Cynical Guides Steam Group for any updates & to build a community. I am not entirely sure if I will do much with it outside of that - I am toying with the idea of trying to make it a hub for other aspiring Achievement Guide writers to link their guides to, & have an immediate audience. But so far, only a few people have "joined". We'll see what happens or where it will go. Regardless, I probably won't be doing any more posts on this site, & if you are interested in my updates or just want to interact with me then come on by the Steam Group!
