In Malay and Indonesian folklore, the geliga lipan is said to be a mystical pearl or stone produced by a giant centipede (lipan bara or lipan tanah).

Itโ€™s often described as:

  • Smooth, marble-like, and sometimes glowing faintly.

  • Found inside the mouth or head of the centipede, but only during rare mystical events.

๐ŸŒŒ Myth & Beliefs

Legends say that only special or โ€œkingโ€ centipedes can produce this pearl, and they fiercelyย guardย it.

The geliga lipan is believed to hold spiritual power, including:

  • Protection against dark magic and malevolent spirits.

  • Luck & prosperity for its owner.

  • Enhanced spiritual sensitivity, making it easier to sense the unseen.

Some say the centipede can only be defeated during a specific lunar phase (often a full moon), and taking the pearl without proper rituals can bring curses.

๐Ÿ•ฏ Paranormal Angle

  • In some stories, the centipede is not just an insect but a supernatural guardian or a shapeshifting spirit.

  • There are claims that the geliga lipan can disappear or teleport if taken without the creatureโ€™s โ€œpermission.โ€

  • Spiritually, itโ€™s said to be a living talisman โ€” losing it carelessly could bring misfortune.

โš  Modern Skepticism

Many people believe that โ€œgeliga lipanโ€ found in markets are just polished stones or resin, not actual mystical objects.

The real ones, according to believers, are almost impossible to find and would never be sold openly.
