Doing a new thing...

Oct 31, 2021

It all started when I wanted to look up how to make small books for my grandkids. Looking online for the best way to assemble them, I found a whole new world of crafting. (Cue "A Whole New World" from Aladdin.) Junk journals, journals made from ... whatever ... junk mail, scrapbook papers, hand died papers, with cute ephemera and all the crafting ideas that goes with the genre.

Maybe I should introduce myself first, though. My name is Louise (maybe you got that from my page name?). I'm a wife to a wonderful, generous man, Jeff, a mom to three, grown children, six grandkids and puppy-mom to a Chiweenie, Kiwi, the Tennessee Tornado. I love to write songs (serious and silly), play guitar or keyboard, (or accordion, autoharp, lap dulcimer or uke. I also love to write poetry and short stories (and one novel that I have finished part one and won a NaNoWriMo award for surviving a November of writing 50,000 words.) I discovered Sestina poetry this year also, and have written several, which I'll share eventually.

I plan to open an Etsy shop be the end of the year and attempt to sell my artwork, journals and music, and whatever else I come up with. But currently my true passion is junk journaling and hand made books. They are so fun and can be beautiful. I hope you think so too.

So, welcome to my page and thank you for hanging out with me.
