imageFollowing New York City's long and storied tradition of showmanship and entertainment, Emcee pitched her circus tent in the Big Apple where she hosted her famous three-ring circus. Well, The Circus is what I call her household because she has three kids, which means there is always some sort of questionable chaos going on when I visit.

One day, I learned Emcee had broken her ankle while playing tetherball with her daughter, which takes skills because (1) do you even use your feet for tetherball and (2) where does one even play tetherball these days, let alone in the city?

Emcee's case was interesting and fascinating because after about thirty minutes into her session, I said to her, "This is going to sound weird, but I'm holding your ankle in my hands and I can see I'm holding your ankle in my hands, but I can't feel my hands or your ankle anymore. I can feel my arms up to my wrists, but it feels like my hands have disappeared...it's like they've blended into your ankle. My hands and your ankle have just turned into an energy ball." To my surprise, Emcee replied, "I was just going to say that! I can't feel your hands anymore either!" Then our conversation was interrupted by a very loud and audible pop. I froze.

"OMG, what was that?" I asked.
"I don't know," Emcee said.
"Are you okay? Does anything hurt?" I asked. I wasn't quite sure if I had broken something else while my hands disappeared into her ankle. It wasn't like I had even moved at all, but losing my hands energetically was a novel experience I hadn't encountered before so I was unsure as to what was happening.
"I'm okay," she replied.
"You heard that too though, right? That was a loud pop!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, I heard it. Nothing hurts though," she said, putting my panic to rest.

What part of healing a broken bone involves a loud pop, I do not know. However, after her next visit to her physical therapist, she texted me on the phone to say:

Progress...went to PT today and she was surprised at how well and quickly I healed. She said bone healing is 6-12 weeks and I'm definitely on the 6 week cycle, if not sooner. I need to wait until week 4 and then she will test out if I can play tennis. Off the boot. In fact, she said I could be hurting myself more than helping with the boot. I am a believer...

Emcee has been there for me and encouraging me on since the beginning of my awakening. I suppose if you ever need to confide in someone that your life is starting to get really strange, it's great to have someone who runs a circus for such purposes because no level of freak show is going to startle them. The only thing I have yet to determine is if she thinks introducing her to remote printing is more life-changing or that I can magically pop her broken ankle back together again.
