Hi friends,
We’re the Committee for Protecting the Rights of Prisoners (CPRP) a grassroots human rights organization in Sri Lanka fighting for some of the country’s most vulnerable people: those behind bars.
Every day, we stand up against torture, extrajudicial killings, inhumane treatment, and legal injustice inside police cells and prisons. We support prisoners and their families, file legal actions, gather evidence, push for accountability, and raise our voice loudly and clearly where others stay silent.
But we can’t do it alone.
In 2025, we're expanding our work:
Providing legal aid for victims of police and prison violence
Publishing independent reports on torture and custodial deaths
Leading the first national campaign for prisoners’ voting rights
Training lawyers and human rights defenders
Pressuring institutions to reform a broken system
We’re raising $100,000 to fund these efforts. Your support no matter the amount goes directly to legal costs, field investigations, staff safety, survivor support, and advocacy.
