Honey, Hustle, and the Road to the Ridge! 🍯☕️

Aug 12, 2026

Update Life at Cotton and Clay has been busy, beautiful, and full of honest progress. We have some exciting news, but first, a bit of the transparency we promise in every video. Our farm stand is officially hitting a $50 gross on the days we’re open!

I want to be clear about what that looks like: we aren't open every day yet. Between our full-time jobs and caring for my 86-year-old father here in Alabama, our time to bake and prep is pretty limited. But even with those hurdles, we are doing it. Every bit of progress counts as we work to raise the final $10,000 for our 3-acre ridge-top "Safety Hatch"—the property where our homestead truly begins.

New Collaboration: Local Gold! Devin has been working on some cool new partnerships to bring more value to the stand, and we are starting with something amazing: Local Honey!

We’re partnering with a local beekeeper to stock honey sourced right here from North East Alabama and North West Georgia. While we’re selling local honey now, our goal is to eventually have our own bees on the ridge. We’re taking it one step at a time, but we’re aiming to have three hives of our own by spring.

Join the Inner Circle: Cotton and Clay Memberships If you want to walk this path with us, we have two ways for you to join our inner circle and directly support the Land Fund.

  • Homestead Partners ($15/month): This is the inner circle for those who want to be part of the homestead. You’ll get downloadable plans for our favorite builds (like the hoop coop and recycled farm stand), monthly "Field Notes," and physical "Cards from the Farm" sent to you in the mail four times a year. Your name will even appear in our video credits as a Homestead Partner.

Fuel the Mission Whether you’re buying a one-time coffee or joining a membership, you aren't just supporting a channel—you’re buying a "brick" in our future home. Every dollar gets us one step closer to the land where this story really takes off.
