I am asking for your immediate help for a 4 month old baby Amal who is fighting for her life. She has been diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) complicated by severe bilateral pneumonia. She has already been intubated and admitted to the Pediatric ICU after repeated episodes where she turned blue due to lack of oxygen. She is currently oxygen-dependent.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is that her sister Wateen passed away at just 8 months old from the same condition. This family has already buried one child. They are now watching the same symptoms unfold again.
CT scans show:
right middle lobe emphysema
bilateral pneumonia
Doctors in Jordan are recommending:
full hospital admission and monitoring
repeat CT scan and complete lab workup
bronchoscopy and lung biopsy for definitive diagnosis
genetic testing due to strong family history
possible surgical removal of the damaged lung lobe (lobectomy)
The estimated cost forn medical management is 3,600 JOD. If surgery is required, the total cost will reach reach 6,600 JOD.
