Declaration of Independence for Rights of Citizen Representation and Direct Democracy Commemorating the 250th Anniversary year of the United States of America (1776–2026) Symbolic Founding Document of the citizen-led Third Continental Congress
Preamble
Whereas, in solidarity with the #NoKingsMovement, this original Declaration — inspired by the historic 1776 pamphlet as a modern common sense of our time — is created as a symbolic, educational document for citizen-led purposes and does not claim to be an official act or document of the United States government. It does not alter nor replace the original Declaration of Independence, but reaffirms its enduring authority as the civic foundation of the Nation. Noting that only 26 states and Washington, D.C., presently provide for Direct Democracy through initiatives and referendums, this Declaration recognizes the enduring constitutional rights and responsibilities of We the People to lawfully strengthen, uphold, and advance the principles of Representative and Direct Democracy — working within existing local, state, federal, and Tribal laws and through peaceful means to reform any laws that may conflict with the equal rights, liberties, and justice owed to all.
Article I – Individual Civic Expression
I, the undersigned, declare my personal intention to lawfully strengthen, uphold, and advance the principles of the Constitution, Representative Democracy, Direct Democracy, and all applicable laws through peaceful, symbolic, and educational participation within my community, and agree to use this Declaration as written.
