The beautiful mountain town of Szklarska Poreba is wonderfully situated and is the largest winter sports center in the Polish Sudetes and the largest climatic resort in Lower Silesia. It is characterized by an exceptional climate comparable to that of the Alps. The town is divided by the Kamienna River, and one of its tributaries, the Kamieńczyk Stream, has created here one of the most beautiful spots in the Karkonosze Mountains. This is the Kamieńczyk Gorge and Waterfall, which was also a filming location for the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
