Fire in the sky over the Umgeni River.
Durban was showing off this this morning...
Early this morning, I was en route to the gym where I work when I noticed the clouds started lighting up from the approaching sun. I quickly rushed to the Umgeni River to try and take a photo.
As I stood on the bridge over the Umgeni River, I watched as the clouds turned into what appeared to be burning embers over the river. The clouds ignited into a slow burning fire, and the reflections of the lights danced in the calm ripples of the river below. A soft, cool breeze was refreshing as the sky burned overhead.
This photo was taken during the 'nautical sunrise", which occured around 50 minutes before the official sunrise, which was at 6:39 this morning. The sun's light edged over the horizon and played with the clouds, announcing that the day was on its way.
I took a quick photo and managed to get to work just in time. This is what I managed to get. I hope that you like the photo...
South Africa always leaves me in awe of her beauty. Look for the beauty, it's there...
I am Proudly South African.
