A very special sunset, and a moon rising over Umhlanga Rocks.
One of my best friends just passed away. A few months ago he asked me to take a photo of a set of rocks that are in Umhlanga Rocks. He said that those particular rocks were amongst his treasured spots in Umhlanga, with Umhlanga being his favourite place in the world. He told me how he caught his first fish standing on these rocks. He was 9 years old at the time, some 40 years ago.
To honour him, I went and took a photo of the glorious sunset over those rocks today. A slight rainbow appeared, and for me, that meant a lot and held a lot of symbology...
I also captured some beautiful clouds, that were set on fire from the setting sun, as they quickly blew over Umhlanga.
I then waited for the moon to rise, and managed to capture a glimpse of the moon between the clouds.
The wind today was intense. I could feel the sand stinging my legs as I stood there fighting with the wind to take the photos. I'm glad that I went.
