Meet Dr Pepper. He is an eight-year-old rescue Dachshund: a proper sausage dog with short legs, a long body, and a heart far bigger than both. He is my shadow, my sofa partner, and my most loyal colleague. Leaving him behind is not an option. A rescue dog has already lost its home. Pepper is not losing another.
Bringing a dog from South Africa to the United States is complicated. He needs a custom airline crate, specialist vet checks and export paperwork, and an international flight in the plane’s pet hold. When he lands, he must stay at a US government-registered kennel for a health check and a rabies shot. The total runs to several thousand dollars.
That is where you come in. Every coffee you buy goes straight into Pepper’s travel fund: his crate, his flight, and his landing in America. Think of it as a pup cup with a passport.
If you are a dog mom, a dog dad, a Dachshund devotee, or simply believe rescue dogs deserve a happy ending, please help me rescue Pepper a second time. I will share updates from the vet visits, the crate training, and, with your help, the big reunion on the other side.
Thank you for helping one small dog make a very long journey home.
With love and a wagging tail,
Dr Pepper and Christopher
