This post isn't about a lost pet, it is intended to raise awareness about bonded pairs and temporary foster solutions you can offer to people in your community if you have the resources. Bonded pairs are much harder to get adopted than single cats. For this reason, they are often separated at humane societies or shelters. During the summer of 2023, shelters were at max capacity and Gus & Charlie didn't have good options for staying together. Their family was moving out of the country and had been trying to find a new home for G&C on the FB Group Colorado Cats In Need for 4+ months. They were running out of time so I responded to their post and offered to foster Gus and Charlie until I could get them into Cat Care Society. Their family was on board with the plan, because CCS would be their best chance at getting adopted as a pair. After a month at my house they got accepted into CCS where they stayed for an additional two months before getting adopted together! If you have specific questions about bonded pairs please reach out to learn more about options and resources in the community.
Special thanks to Jean for your guidance on Gus and Charlie and to Cat Care Society!
