What Is A Christian Rebel?

The name of my podcast and this channel is The Christian Rebel. ‌So; what is a Christian Rebel? First lets break that title into two words and lets define each. First; what is a Christian? ‌Webster's dictionary says: one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ ‌Now lets look at the word Rebel, lets take a look to see what Mr. Webster says. A rebel is to act in or show opposition or disobedience. ‌A Christian is one who believes in the teaching of Jesus Christ, A Rebel is to act in or show opposition or disobedience. ‌Now lets look in the bible to see if there is any corresponding verses. Lets go to Romans 12:2 from the New Kings James Version. ‌2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. ‌Lets break down this verse. Be not conformed. What does that mean? Lets see what Webster dictionary says. Conform: to be similar or identical, also to act in accordance with prevailing standards or customs. ‌Look at the way this world and culture is going. Many of them are living a sinful and selfish life. Many of them are doing exactly what 2 Timothy 3:1-5 is saying“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” ‌Are we conforming to this world? I would rather rebel against what the world says is normal but the Bible says is sin. The choice is Rebel against Christ or Rebel against the world. Be not conformed to this world. ‌By not conforming to this world, essentially we are rebelling against it. If you are conforming with the world you are an enemy of God. James 4:4 “You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” ‌Do not conform, do not be a friend of the world. ‌Now, lets read the second half of the scripture again. But be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable perfect will of God. ‌How do we become transformed by the renewing of our mind? First, I believe we need to get right with God. Second, we get into God's word and study it daily. ‌We get right with God when we repent of our sins and turn from our wicked ways. What were those wicked ways? Those things we were conforming to that the world says is normal and God says is sin. We stop doing those things which we know is sin. ‌Renewing our minds comes from reading our Bible and praying. We stop watching and doing those things that we were conformed to. Then we may prove what is that good and acceptable perfect will of God. Conform with the world or conform with God. If you are a Christian and believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ, you do not conform to this world. ‌Matthew 10:33 says: But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. ‌I will end this with two questions for to think about. ‌Are you conforming to this world?
