So let me tell you how it started.
The Chitramrit project is very close to my heart. It is my dream project. The idea of making such a work clicked with me when I first came across the great book वचनामृत (Vachanamrit). This is the Marathi translation of the Gospels of Sri Ramakrishna. The beauty of Mahendra Nath Gupta’s writing is simply amazing. One of the key locations in the stories is the famous Dakshineshwar Kali temple. After checking some photos of Dakshineshwar on the internet, I started to visualize the scenes in my mind.
I decided to make some 3d digital models as proof of concept eventually my exposure to the 3d visualization industry since 1999, made me try it for myself. Recently with my team, we tried making some 3d models of the Dakshineshwar temple on a very simple, raw stage. And the results were good enough to give us encouragement to further try it out. For the last few years, we are regularly putting some time into this project. We have developed a primary 3d model of the entire Dakshineshwar temple site. We will be reconstructing the models in 3d with full-to-the-scale accuracy. The buildings and locations will be made with all available dimensions, photographic references, and historical details.
