These days I’ve been thinking about the “interconnectedness” of life. The interconnectedness of our past and our present, the interconnectedness of us and the larger community (i.e strangers) etc.
When we think of “interconnectedness”, we can think of it from various aspects, and one of which is the love we cultivate in our past relationships and how it connects to the present. When we see how interconnected we all are, we see that everyone we have once loved becomes an integral part of us, that continues to influence and interact with our present experiences in its own special ways. We can hold love for multiple things/persons at once, in multiple forms which are also hard to capture in words. Sometimes, also for a duration that is hard to imagine.
I believe that the more love we allow around us and within us because of the inevitable “interconnectedness” we start to observe, the more fulfilling our lives can be. The more we can come to accept love for what it has grown into and how it can continuously unfold even after years (even if someone is no longer in our lives), the more we can mindfully harness it in positive ways to guide our present day behaviours.
