In the south, it's customary when company comes over to have a little something sweet or savory for them to nibble on. So it's not uncommon to find a pound cake or cheese straws and a pitcher of sweet tea or lemonade nearby. It's not a cliche; it's an endearing unspoken tradition that taught me respect and hospitality.
It also taught me about humility because I knew if my host placed something out for me, it represented their best.
So I'm extending a virtual table of sorts to you, my friend. I've got out my best mason jars and everyday china so that we could break bread. I'm excited that you're taking this adventure with me. I'm finally at a point where I'm ready to dig deeper, learn more and give back.
