The Civil War Commemoration Day is organized by the Sons and Daughters of the 54th Regiment Massachusetts Infantry, a dedicated group committed to honoring the legacy of the 54th Massachusetts Infantry—a pivotal all-Black Union regiment during the American Civil War.

The 54th Massachusetts Infantry, led by Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, played a crucial role in the fight for freedom and equality. Their bravery and sacrifice continue to inspire generations. Our organization aims to:

- Preserve the memory of the 54th Regiment and its soldiers.

- Educate the public about their contributions.

- Advocate for social justice and equality.

The Civil War Commemoration Day event will:

- Remember the 54th Regiment's service and sacrifice.
