Why?

Dec 13, 2021

I‘ll be honest, I‘m really not sure why I set this up. I think part of me wants to force myself to keep learning, maybe the pressure of committing to updates and sharing of my journey will help motivate me.

So my attempt here will be to journal my activities, share what I have learned and maybe be able to share my creations as well!

It‘s been a crazy journey to say the least. I started with Pewter and attempting to cast rings, to working with pre-made ring cores and working on the inlays themselves. I‘ve tried wood, resin, silver, pewter and even working with steel bolts.

My favorite part has to be working with the ring cores and focusing all my attention on the inlay itself.

Over the past 2 years or so I‘ve found that my favorite combinations for inlay are gold leaf, Lapis Lazuli and different shades of crushed Opal.

I even created my own „version“ and made a few of them. I used a Tungsten ring core, with lapis lazuli, gold leaf, Bermuda Blue crushed opal with a aqua blue glow powder. The inspiration came from Patrick Adair Designs.

Hopefully you will join me on my journey, I look forward to sharing and hearing feedback!
