Hello and welcome to my first Before & After editing comparison video. I'm a dance photographer from Berlin, specializing in combining ballet, contemporary dance and circus arts photography with architecture and fashion.
In this day and age, post-processing has not only become an expectation in many branches of photography, but it has also become the recognition value of many photographers and artists out there. That is why I decided to come up with this video series.
For the past 7 years, I have taken and seen countless pictures. I have been following the work of numerous photographers and artists for many years, and each of them has left different impacts on me. Inspiring, gripping, provoking, compelling and everything in between.
To me, photography is about capturing unique moments and creating art together with other artists. The bonds are everything. To me, it is about creating art with moments, light, locations and people the way they are. Beautiful and unique - each of them telling their own story. It is my personal belief that you don't need much editing or post-processing in order to create beautiful images. It is also my personal belief that showing these Before & After comparisons to my models, collaborators and future clients makes it easier for them to understand how I work and see the world around me.
In this video, you will see different pictures I have taken in Berlin, Germany in 2020. For each photograph in this video, I will show the photograph 'straight out of camera' and my personal interpretation - the edited version. As you can see, I only apply minor changes such as brightness, contrast, colour or black and white to my photographs. Sometimes I decide to rotate, crop or remove interfering objects, but usually, I try to avoid capturing those while I'm taking the photos.
